Ok, today we’re going to be making Dijon garlic salmon. So as I mentioned in the grocery
store fish, especially salmon is a really really great source of protein. And salmon
especially is a great source of heart healthy omega-3 fats. We’re going to make a single
serving, a 4 ounce serving of salmon. And let’s get this prepared here. And this whole
serving is going to be 248 calories and 9 grams of fat. Again, the fats might seem a
little higher but that’s because salmon is full of the heart healthy fats. It’s
a great healthy choice. So we’re going to take the Dijon mustard which is 2 tablespoons
and we’re going to spread that evenly on the salmon. Now I put this salmon in a pan
coated with some cooking spray and the salmon that I got from the store, they actually took
the skin off of it. But if y our salmon has the skin on it just place it skin down in
the pan. Ok, so there we have the mustard; we’re going to add the garlic. Try to spread
the garlic evenly over the mustard and if you’re not a fan of garlic you don’t have
to use it or you can use less. This is pretty garlicky salmon. We’re going to add the
red onion across the top and these onions are going to cook up real nice in the oven.
Add that across the salmon. And we’re going to sprinkle that with just a pinch of the
salt and pepper. So not too much, more pepper than salt. You don’t want to add too much
sodium to that, but just a little bit to flavor it. And the oven is at 400 and we’re going
to put this in for about 20 minutes or until the fish flakes with a fork. Alright let’s
put this in and we’ll bake this up. Ok, looks like our salmons all done. And you can
tell by using a fork and flaking it, making sure it flakes nicely with a fork. And so
here we have our finished Dijon garlic salmon.
