Hello, I'm Robin. This is my hair mousse review. Today I came upon a bit of a problem. I was
ready to go out and then I realised I had no hair mousse. Without hair mousse, I can't
create a quiff. Without a quiff, I generally can't function. So, I went out and I didn't
just buy one hair mousse, I bought four hair mousses. The four mousses that I've got and
I'm going to test are all from the high street, so they're pretty cheap. The first product
- Superdrug with pro vitamin B5. Second product - VO5 Mega Hold with five vital benefits.
I don't care what those benefits are, I just want big hair and I want it now! Product three
- Wella Shockwaves, style, attract, play. Product four - L'Oreal Paris Studio Line silk
& gloss. Throughout this review I'm going to style my hair when it's slightly damp.
I'll also be using three constants - my hairdryer, Fudge Matte Hed Paste and a super strong freeze
hairspray. First product up - Superdrug. It's kind of wet. It feels like water. It makes
it look a little bit greasy and I've not even put any product in it yet. Just straight through.
Not looking the best. It's made my hair look quite clumpy. It's defined it in bits and
it's got a shine to it that's more grease than gloss. Product two is VO5 Mega Hold.
This one's really springy. Moussey! That's better. It's just got more volume and definition.
Yeh, not bad. Not bad at all. Product three - Wella Shockwaves. Woah! Not as thick as
the VO5, but a lot foamier. It's made my hair feel quite tacky and sticky. It doesn't want
to stay up. I like to push my hair up against the way it grows. This gives it more volume
and definiton. This doesn't want to do that. You can see there's no real defintion and
my hair doesn't feel like it's got any structure. And the volume isn't great. And it just looks
a bit uncontrolled. The forth and final product - L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Silk & Gloss.
This one feels quite dense and very silky - as it says on the tin. If feels really thick.
I've got too much mousse! Good definition. This one is really holding its own. My hair's
got definition and it's very silky - as it says. It's got a good shape, it's got good
structure. The four products have been tested. And we have a winner. In fourth place - Wella
Shockwaves. It just made my hair feel greasy, it lumped it into one and it didn't even go
the way I want it to. In third place - Superdrug. I didn't expect much from this and it actually
did alright. Quite watery but it did give it a goodo structure. In second place, VO5
Mega Hold. This one gave it really good volume, really good structure and it also felt very
controlled. It also provided great definition and didn't put my hair in bits like the Shockwaves
did. And the number one - L'Oreal Paris Studio Line Silk & Gloss. I loved this one. I've
still got it in. It means I can go out with this bad boy in. It's given it loads of volume
and it's holding. It's providing really good definition to the hair, it's not clumping
it, it's not making it look greasy. It is silky, like it says on the tin. It's touchable,
I love it. Although it's touchable, I don't want anyone touching my quiff. But it's a
plus. Really, really, really good. I'm keeping this one in and I'm going to buy a few more
of these bad boys. If you've got any other products that you use, that work better than
this, you can leave a comment. You know I'm a total quiff junkie, so if there's anything
out there that I've not yet tested - the bigger, the better - I want it! If you've liked this
review? If you've hated this review? Like it, hate it, rate it. Now I'm off out to go
wild with the world's biggest quiff.
