On behalf of Expert Village I'm Laura Bandford. I'm going to show you how to make a delicious
Asian vegetarian entree. Now we are going to prepare some mushrooms. Mushrooms are great
in this dish, they add own special texture and the mushrooms are like little sponges.
They soak up all the delicious juices and flavors that are going to be in this dish.
I picked some nice big fat cremini mushrooms you can use whatever mushroom you like or
you can use a combination of mushrooms, that would be great too. Shiitake is the obvious
Asian mushroom, they are a little pricey and they are better I think sauteed or grilled,
but for steaming I like a cremini mushroom. I am going to clean some of these mushrooms,
slice off their stems we don't need the stems, they are not really worth as saving because
we don't have that many of them. You can make a mushroom broth if you had a lot of stems.
You're going to slice them not too thin, pretty big pieces but again bite size so you can
get a nice mushroom taste. You don't want slithers you want to know that the mushroom
was there
and that is how you clean mushrooms to get them ready for our dish. In the next clip
we are going to talk about tofu and I think it's pretty interesting.
