Every five years or so at these toy fairs I go to, I find something quite stunning which
seems almost to break the laws of physics.
This, which was shown in prototype just two years ago, has finally reached the market
and it's an antigravity platform which is a beautiful silver base
with LEDs brightly glowing in it.
And above it, hovering as if magically, is a globe of the world.
And it really is hovering, about an inch high I think.
It does need power this, you can see from the lead, the mains power.
But unlike the LEVITRON that we also market, you don't need to spin this to make it go,
and it will stay up there perpetually for as long as you want it to.
Quite an incredible piece of engineering and a wonderful object.
Now to take it apart we simply take it off the base, lift, remove and there's the key piece;
a very heavy magnet which will sit on its own above the platform.
So with the globe removed, there's the important bit; this blue disk containing a very strong magnet.
Now that's hovering about a good inch and a half above the antigravity plate;
and it will take up to about three ounces of weight, which is a considerable amount
of weight, before it breaks through.
Here's something very light to start with, just one of our paradox dragons,
give it a little spin;
he can turn around and do his job.
And as before, that really is hovering above the base plate, and it will keep hovering
perpetually as long as it's plugged in. What an incredible sight.
Here again is one of my recent puzzles rotating in the air,
and it's beautiful on this rotating platform,
spun in the middle of the air; what a sight.
This is my little kitten that goes with the sleeping cat that I have; this is a beautiful
little object, in a basket, a little Chinese-made kitten in a basket,
and that's also rotating so beautifully, swinging back and forward magically in midair.
