Since the 1217 takeover by the Castillians at the hands of Fernando III the Saint
to 1540, the date the first brotherhood of Veracruz was founded
since then, a series of historically important brotherhoods have been created.
First, we have to highlight the 1411 foundation of the Christ of Ivy Brotherhood.
On the other hand, we have to consider the very early foundation of one of Spain's first brotherhoods.
The creation of Baeza's Miraculous Banner Brotherhood, dedicated to Saint Isidoro of Seville.
In fact, the guild system gave rise to the brotherhoods.
Which were organized charity groups.
Saint Isidoro brotherhood´s foundation
was linked to the first takeover of the city of Baeza in 1147.
It was created by royalty, by the king.
It's always been celebrated, but there have been very specific historic moments
in which Easter Week couldn't be commemorated with its traditional processions.
For example, during very specific moments of the Civil War
in critical moments when most of the icons dissappeared.
All the images of Baeza are venerated and very much loved by its people.
Almost all the images, with time, had a big following.
Especially some of the more popular icons, like Christ of the Fall and Christ of the Ivy.
According to tradition, they were miraculous. There are other well known miracles as well.
