Hi, my name is Leta Koontz and I'm a Yoga Instructor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at
Schoolhouse Yoga and I'm here today on behalf of Expert Village to help you work on some
hip opening poses. Okay, so now we're going to come into pigeon pose. Bring your right
leg forward, bring your left leg behind you and depending on your flexibility you can
keep that right foot in close to your left hip or if you're able to, bring that right
shin so it's parallel with the front of your mat. Again here we want to feel the rotation
coming out and down in the right hip. Inhale, lift the spine and exhale, you can come to
the palms dropping the elbows to the floor or if it's comfortable for you go ahead and
bring your forehead to the floor. Stay here for a few breaths and when you're ready, switch
to the other side. Again, depending on your flexibility you can keep the foot a little
closer to your hip or you can bring the foot forward to the shin and get as parallel in
front of your mat. If you're feeling any discomfort in your hip or any pain in your knee, please
back off from the pose and bring that foot in a little bit closer towards the right hip
bone. Stay here for a few breaths and when you're ready go ahead and come out of the
pose.
