Hi welcome back to 1000 most common words in Dutch (NT2 exam preparation). This is lesson
13 in a series of 40 videos. Each video contains 25 of the most frequently used Dutch words.
In lesson 13 we deal with leisure time. "vrije tijd"
"de hobby" "reizen"
"de vakantie" And this is not a holiday in the Netherlands. Unfortunately our climate
is not warm enough for palm trees. "kamperen" And this is the Dutch way: “de
caravan”. If you travel in France and you see this, it’s for sure a Dutch family.
"het strand" "zonnen"
"het pretpark" And the most famous “pretpark” in the Netherlands is “de Efteling”. There
you find the thrill of rollercoasters but also a very beautiful fairytale environment.
"tuinieren" "de taal"
"een taal leren" And that is “to learn a language”. And I hope learning Dutch is
a hobby for you as well, and that you enjoy it, and not only because you have to.
"sporten" "hardlopen"
"wandelen" "tennissen"
"hockeyen" In Holland, this type of hockey is popular. Although we do like skating a lot, we are not at all players
of ice hockey. "borrelen" And often the word “borrelen”
is also used for network drinks: “de borrel”. "uit eten gaan"
"uitgaan" "stappen" It literally means “to walk”,
but here it is more related to partying and drinking. And this is
the result: "dronken zijn"
"koken" "kunst" And here you see the “Rijksmuseum”.
"de verjaardag" "een verjaardag vieren"
"hij is jarig" "zingen"
"dansen" "winkelen"
And that’s it for today. You now can tell what you do in your free time. Please share

“tot les 14!”
