my name is Javier Lopez,
during the following two minutes I am going to introduce you my idea for a near future
about how to improve the traffic congestion and reduce its pollution.
My idea is based in two layers.
The first layer provides real time traffic analysis and prediction capabilities
by aggregating data from a grid of sensors that measure traffic volume
and speed on city roads.
This data is processed by a cloud system based on Neural networks.
The algorithm of this neural network leverages historical
and real-time traffic data to predict future traffic conditions.
Applying all this technology to a real-time dinamic traffic lights system
we would have a smart infrastructure that is able to adjust automatically the current traffic conditions
to become the most optimal possible.
The second layer provides a new standart for active communication between
traffic lights and cars.
So with this, when the light is red,
a radiosignal will be sent to the traffic on its lane, stopping the engine of standstill cars
and showing users the remaining time till the traffic will be reactivated.
The system will also warn the user to start the engine just before the traffic reactivation,
improving in this way the time response of traffic.
Thereby, the combination of these two layers not only offers
a smart infrastructure that is able to avoid traffic jams,
at the end,
it also reduces the time that people spend on the road,
meaning less fuel consumption,
less pollution but mainly
that you will have more time for your life
more money
and that you will be breathing cleaner air.
and all this is thanks to the ICTs
