well when I first saw this car in the workshop I was but seven years old
and the car looks massive, like a monster
and and I was totally in love with this car
when I first...
wanted to restore dis car I only knew it was from Rob Slotemaker
and then I dig in to the story and then it big came
a very special car... and one of the drivers was Frank Gardner
and he was... ex F1...
a formulal 5000 driver... This car has a great history
and it would be a shame if this car was lost
I worked for Allen Man Racing..
I had a of colleague Norman Lockwood, and frank was then there driver
that's when we started the Z28 project
which is the car you see here.
It was then a very successful car... It won may races
British Saloon Championship twice..
Tarmac Championship twice..
And then then the car got sold to Stuart Graham
Rob Slotemaker he has an Racing Driving School in Holland
Rob had this car
and I was always talking about with him about the car
I like it very much and I was very impressed
Impressed from the car.
Well Rob's career was very impressive I think is best days was probably when he was running for "van der Straten"
He was doing Le Mans and lots of other high-profile races
and i think is real moment of glory was when I was about 14 years old
and he was doing all the spins that was
necessary in the movie from my Steve McQueen "the 24 Hours of Le Mans"
I always tell in that now when I have money I will buy this car from you
of virtually any diet
hall here of the dental time the girls
cartwheel stemming on the sides of the track when I pass it
it goes very fast I couldn't look inside that
they have a better some kind of an intuition
and I felt like the
this is not true this is not true the new of these
furnace been getting when he died I get to know it from the notorious and he
said
this is one of the wheels from Rob that you get his car
is racing car that's the way they I get the car
when I always looking to the car and saw him driving
in racism as I never drove the car
by myself in I was impressed with the car
and no
I'm still impressed from the car in more ways
emotion we stand in the way that I get the car then
that my nephew
pick up the whole story and and and
bring me in that same way a situation that I cool too
work on the car and maybe also drive the car
after that
this projects for me was very a
astonishing I think it's fantastic
the mom someplace that for
its no which project is still taking off
the
I also think it's it's the you guys did
the very deep recuse you you got it
just in time think if you will start this program for
the year later then then probably only the chassis plate was still intact
the south wall it's quite a step to
to do this because you have to start again from scratch
and it's not easy to get all
all the old parts dance everything from the historical sites
you have to try to figure out and
it's not all documented so it's it's difficult projected
I'm hoping that the car will
ray emerges like all other we is to know
I'm sure
with patrick said termination who
we will see a going I look forward to read
to restore the car and to find the funding and to just have been racing
again
you know that that would be very very impressive and
you know I
I welcome a you know everybody to
to be parted
good mmm
