Volvo Trucks - First Volvo FH now on the road - eBay auction winner drives home his truck

We got up at 4:00 a.m. to come to Paris. Everybody got out of bed on time. That shows how impatient everybody was to travel to the capital and to discover the new vehicle. Can't you see we're happy ? Of course, otherwise we wouldn't have come down here. During the launch of the new Volvo FH in September 2012, the very first truck was auctioned out on eBay, and the winning bid, 150 000 Euros, was placed by the French haulage company owner Jean-Pierre Ducournau. The money goes to Star For Life, an organisation who works against *** and AIDS in schools in South Africa. Now, the day has come that Jean-Pierre will receive the keys to his new truck and take it home. Jean-Pierre, Volvo Trucks are proud and honoured and happy that you are the one who won the truck. Volvo FH has been Volvo Truck´s flagship model for almost 20 years. The handover of the very first truck in the new series marks a milestone in Volvo Truck's history. I feel that we now have the truck we've been dreaming about for years. This truck will set us apart from our competitors. The new FH marks the result of years of research for Volvo. I'm both happy and touched, because this is the truck the industry has been waiting for. This truck sets a new standard for the future. Independent wheels. You feel that when you're driving. It's very comfortable and very quiet. This truck has everything. It has everything for the job. This truck... has the comfort of a limousine, but it's still a real truck. When I saw the number 1, the new FH, I was touched by the beauty of the vehicle. Often, something so beautiful on the outside can be ugly on the inside. I mean, from a mechanical point of view. But this truck is a beauty in all its aspects. I'm very happy with it.
