Intro Welcome to the skilled channel and today we're
looking at the upcoming ps4 exclusives for 2016 and beyond. This is the ultimate list
with 30 games in total ranging from big blockbuster action games to indie titles to Playstation
VR compatible titles. And trust me there is a very diverse lineup of games. We're also
including timed exclusives and console exclusives because we want to see everything the Playstation
has to offer. We're starting this video off with the biggest action titles. So sit back,
relax, and let's take a look at 30 upcoming PS4 exclusives.
30 Uncharted 4 03/18/2016 Uncharted 4 is set several years after the
last adventure, and at this point fortune hunter Nathan Drake has settled into a quiet
life with his wife Elena. But his long lost brother Sam re-appears in his life, with a
lead on pirate treasure. Nate has no choice but to join him on this journey. His greatest
adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what hes willing
to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.
Uncharted 4 displays an even more cinematic experience on the Playstation 4. Levels are
larger and more open. Crowds are now more dynamic and react to Nate's actions, Nate's
movement will also change, as he will adjust his body to move through the crowds easier,
Nate will even speak to civilians. Objects in the environment are now destructible, from
gunfire and brute force. Vehicles make a return, however unlike Drakes' fortune, vehicle segments
are much more dynamic, with multiple paths, and destructible objects. Uncharted 4 is said
to be Naughty Dog's last game in the series and it will arrive on PS4 in March 2016.
29 Detroit: Beyond Human - TBA Quantic Dream, the developers known for story
driven games such as Heavy Rain, have created a new science fiction story driven game. Detroit
features the main character Kara, an android who escapes from the factory where she was
made. She becomes sentient meaning she is a conscious self aware robot in a world filled
with automated robots that are used as tools. Like the title implies, the game takes place
in the city of Detroit during the near future. The trailer raises many dramatic questions
about the setting and society. How will Kara fit in with the world? Is society ready for
androids that can think for themselves? Detroit looks to tackle these heavy moral issues and
more. The release date is still to be announced.
28 Street Fighter V Feb 16, 2016 (Console Exclusive)
The classic Capcom fighting game returns for the fifth installment in the main series.
Using a variety of attacks and special abilities in combination, players will knock out their
opponents one by one.
Street Fighter V also runs on Unreal Engine 4 looking crisp and clear with a similar colorful
art style that Street Fighter IV had. The game will include 16 fighters at launch and
there will be six more characters added through DLC in 2016.
Street Fighter V is console exclusive to the Playstation 4 so there will be a PC release
with cross platform multiplayer. Scheduled for release this February, this game will
satisfy the fighting fans.
27 Paragon Late 2016 Epic Games, the company known for the toughest
action games like Gears Of War, has decided to take on the MOBA genre. They aren't calling
this a hybrid game, but actually a MOBA with explosive action. Unlike most MOBAs, Paragon
will be 3rd person action, but still maintain strategic elements. Teams will be 5 on 5 with
three lanes including jungles, minions, towers, and a core. The first five heroes have been
announced and are called Twinblast, Steel, Sparrow, Dekker, and Grux. The game will also
feature a card system which will change how you apply your strategies. Paragon is a console
exclusive and it has cross play between the PS4 and PC versions. Paragon is expected to
launch in late 2016 with an open beta over the summer.
26 Ni-oh (Proncuned Nee-oh) TBA 2016 Team Ninja, the developers behind the Ninja
Gaiden series, are creating Ni-oh, a new PS4 exclusive. What most people don't know is
that the concept for this game was originally announced in 2004 and was intended to be released
alongside a Japanese film called Oni, but it was delayed numerous times. The story features
William, a blond haired Samurai that is the son of a Japanese lord and a Western woman
during the Warring States period of 16th century Japan. Many fans are calling it Dark Souls
with Samurais because on first impression that is what it looks like. There's a variety
of Japanese weapons and huge demonic enemies that are sure to provide a challenge. Ni-oh
is expected to be released sometime in 2016.
25 Hellblade TBA 2016 Check Pronunciation Hellblade is Ninja Theory's unique approach
to an action game. It's being developed and published independently, but with the quality
and production value of a AAA game. They want to push the three qualities that define their
games: ninja combat, strong character stories, and a unique art vision. Hellblade features
the Celtic Warrior Senua on her journey into hell. Hell is actually a manifestation of
her mental illness. Senua experiences hallucinations and delusions which will be part of the game's
experience. Although the game has heavy moral themes of mental illness, it's guaranteed
to have fast technical action like their last release, DmC. Hellblade is console exclusive
to the Playstation 4 and is expected to be released sometime in 2016.
24 Killing floor 2 TBA 2016 (Console Exclusive) Killing Floor 2 is the ultimate zombie co-op
shooter. You fight wave after wave of zombies known in this game as Zeds. Killing Floor
2 takes place in Europe where a deadly outbreak from the bio tech firm created the Zeds. Gameplay
is very straight forward. Buy weapons, shoot zeds, keep your teammates alive, and repeat.
The boss character is chosen randomly during the last wave and he provides the toughest
challenge. The game features up to 6 players fighting cooperatively across four different
difficulty levels. Killing Floor 2 has been on early access on PC, but the console release
is exclusively coming to the PS4 in 2016.
23 Horizon Zero Dawn - TBA 2016 Horizon Zero Dawn is an action role-playing
game where players take control of Aloy, a female hunter and archer, as she progresses
through a post-apocalyptic land which is ruled by robotic dinosaurs. The game is set 1000
years into the feature, and society has really changed. Human civilization has collapsed
and the world is dominated by robotic creatures, which have become the strongest creatures
in the world. The components of these creatures, such as electricity and the metal that they
are composed of, are vital to the survival of Aloy, and she must loot these creatures'
corpses and find these useful resources.
Players can use a variety of techniques to kill enemies. From setting traps like tripwires,
shooting enemies with arrows, utilizing explosive and melee combat, or performing silent takedown.
Players can also craft new items by collecting materials and machines parts found in the
world. The game also features anopen world, which can be explored by players in between
missions. A dynamic day-night cycle and weather system will also be featured and Guerrilla
Games also promises that there won't be any loading screens while in the game world. The
game is set to be released sometime in 2016
22 Nier: Automata TBA 2016 The first Nier was a cult classic and Square
Enix is looking to strengthen its classic action RPG gameplay by utilizing the creative
minds at PlatinumGames. Nier: Automata tells a story where Earth has been invaded by powerful
mechanical life forms that forced mankind to leave the planet. A Resistance force returns
to Earth to fight for survival. The lead female character you see in the trailers is an android
with her own mystique about her. Based on the trailer, Nier has the signature styles
of a Platinum action game with deep combat and admirable enemies. Nier is set to release
on PS4 sometime in 2016.
Intermission 1 I'm a big fan of action games and some of
these titles look incredibly cinematic. I'm really looking forward to Horizon and Uncharted
for their high production value, but then there's also great niche games like Nier and
Hellblade.
Well, we're just getting started on this list. Let's dive in to some of the more unique adventure
and RPG games that are creating beautiful and one of a kind experiences. There's a lot
of variety in this section from science fiction, to animated jrpgs, and even adventure titles.
Let's keep going.
21 No Man's Sky June 2016 (Console Exclusive) No Man's Sky is one of the most ambitious
and highly anticipated independent titles on the PS4. Players will explore an entire
universe with over 18 quintillion planets. And this complex universe will be shared because
you will be able to share coordinates with friends. The game is all about discovery as
you explore new planets and record all of it in The Atlas. There will be combat, but
every action has consequences. If you want you can attack a space station, but it will
attract the attention of space police or even the space military. The game is largely what
you make of it.
No Man's Sky is a console exclusive for the PS4 set to release in June 2016.
20 Ratchet and Clank 04/12/2016 Ratchet and Clank is shaping up to be a beautiful
adventure game that's fun for all ages. Ratchet and Clank is a re-imagining of the original
game released on the Playstation 2 back in 2002. The trailer is a blend of movie footage
and in game footage, but it's so seamless you can't tell the difference. The galaxy
is very lively. Monsters are massive and the models of both Ratchet and Clank have never
looked better. One of the most exciting parts of Ratchet and Clank was landing on different
planets and exploring all of them. And the movement sections return, allowing players
to grind on rail systems and hoverboards. Many of the old elements are there, but with
modernized, controls, graphics, and interfaces.
Insomniac games has a strong track record of producing fun, imaginative, and entertaining
games and I'm excited for this one. Ratchet and Clank releases exclusively on the PS4
this April.
19 Ni No Kuni 2 TBA (Possibly Timed Exclusives, May Come To Other Platforms)
Ni No Kuni 2 is the sequel to one of the biggest JRPGs that was released on the Playstation
3. The original was memorable because the art style was designed in collaboration with
the famous Japanese movie studio, Studio Ghibli. The game follows Evan, a boy king, who adventures
through a kingdom engulfed in darkness in order to prove himself. Along the way he's
joined by several companions including Roland, a visitor from another world. This is a big
adventure and even though it stars a young boy it will have heavy themes of morality,
friendship, and personal achievement.
Ni No Kuni 2 has only been announced for PS4 as of this video, but the developers have
stated that it might be possible that the game will get ported to other platforms at
a later time. The release date is still to be announced.
18 Gravity Rush 2 TBA 2016 Gravity Rush 2 focuses on Kat, the protagonist
from the previous game which was actually a PS Vita exclusive. Kat still has the same
powers of gravity shifting and combat, but they've been expanded upon. Kat has three
gravity styles: Normal Lunar, and Jupiter. Each style has contrasting advantages and
disadvantages. In Lunar style, the force of gravity is reduced making Kat lighter and
quicker. Jupiter actually increases the gravity making her slow but more powerful. They're
used in different situations, but they're also combined together for combos. Gravity
Rush 2 releases sometime in 2016.
17 Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 TBA 2016 Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 is a remaster collection
including an HD remake of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Dream Drop Distance is
a full remake for the PS4 because the original was created for the 3DS. This game follows
Sora and Riku when they take on the Mark Of Mastery exam in preparation for upcoming threats.
In addition, there are two new features. One is Kingdom Hearts: Back Cover which is an
HD Cinematic and the other feature is Kingdom Hearts: 0.2 Birth By Sleep A Fragmentary
Passage. A Fragmentary Passage is a short episode that takes place after the events
of Birth By Sleep, told from the perspective of Aqua. This story helps bridge the gap to
the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 title. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 releases sometime in 2016.
16 Final Fantasy 7 Remake TBA Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been one of the
most highly anticipated titles for classic fans of the series. The remake will re-tell
the story of the original game from 1997 on the Playstation 1. It follows Cloud Strife,
an ex-mercenary who joins the avalanche eco terrorist group to fight against the Shinra
corporation who have been draining the planet's life energy. Along the way he becomes involved
in something much, much bigger. Square has chosen to make this release episodic allowing
them to expand on areas adding more openness to the levels. And they intend to keep the
story true to the original by including the most memorable events. The battle system is
also real time and action oriented. As of this video, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is rumored
to be a timed exclusive, but it's definitely coming to Playstation 4 as it was announced
at Playstation Experience. The release date is still to be announced.
15 The Last Guardian TBA 2016 (Check Trico pronunciation)
The Last Guardian is a third-person perspective game that combines action-adventure and puzzle
elements. The player controls the unarmed boy who can run, jump, climb and perform other
actions similar to the gameplay in Shadow of the Colossus. The player may also need
to use the environment to silently move around or defeat shadow-being guards, though initially
the boy is weaponless.
The player's movements are augmented by interaction with Trico, his companion. Trico is "driven
by animal instincts", and it is up to the player to guide the creature, taking advantage
of his natural behavior, in order to complete puzzles.
The player will also have to care for the creature, either by feeding it or removing
spears and arrows that are stuck in its body. There's a relationship developed between the
two and if effects how you will venture through the game world. The Last Guardian is scheduled
for a release sometime in 2016.
14 Brutal Early 2016 Brutal looks like the game MadWorld mixed
with ASCII art. It's primarily black and white with touches of vibrant color. Combat is very
violent even though it's in a fantasy setting. It actually falls in the roguelike genre so
the game will be about replayability and challenge. Luckily, there will be local co-op so you
can take your buddy with you on this adventure. Brutal is set to release in early 2016 as
a digital title.
13 Wild TBA Developed by Wild Sheep Studio, Wild is an
open world survival adventure game set in the pre-historic era. The game takes place
during the Neolithic period in a procedurally generated world about the size of Europe.
You can explore this entire world and the goal is to colonize as many areas as possible.
You'll form camps around certain landmarks for protection and creating a base. Animals
are controlled by using shaman like powers allowing you to possess them. Wild is an interesting
take on open world games and an ambitious attempt to integrate animals seamlessly into
the gameplay. The release date is still to be announced.
12 Abz TBA 2016 (Console Exclusive) In Abzu, you dive deep into the depths of
the sea to explore vibrant ocean environments. The idea is based on our subconscious thoughts
and our curiosity.
Abzu creator Matt Nava was the lead artist on Journey and you can definitely see his
signature style with his new game. It's a wonder to look at and to explore. From the
moment they created the idea for this game, they wanted to create an artistic game that's
beautiful to look at and also meaningful in its purpose. Abzu is set to launch in 2016
and it's a console exclusive title for Playstation 4.
11 Persona 5 TBA 2016 In Perona 5, players will take on the role
of the protagonist, a high school boy who gains the ability to summon facets of his
psyche called Personas. The lead character is a phantom thief and he masks his mysterious
alter ego. Gameplay will be similar to the previous titles featuring dungeon exploration
with real time gameplay such as platforming, stealth, and traps. Dungeons feature a mixture
of fixed environments tied into the plot and theme, and randomly generated environments.
Persona always carries the same themes of ordinary events such as school life, friendship,
and love mixed in with strange events. Persona 5 is scheduled for release sometime in 2016.
10 Hardware Rivals January 2016 Hardware Rivals is an online multiplayer vehicle
combat game. It's actually a sequel to the 2002 Playstation 2 game, Hardware: Online
Arena. This game lets players take control of Tanks versus Fast Attack Vehicles wielding
lasers, railguns, and rockets. It's clear that the game is simple, fun mayhem. But there
are also challenges and bounties to add diversity to the competition. The game will have updates
and progression such as community events, unlockable perks and multiple battle modes
to keep players engaged. Hardware Rivals releases in January 2016.
Intermission 2 The art style on some of these games blows
me away. You don't necessarily need to push a lot of polygons or new tech to create something
pretty.
Believe it or not, there's still more games on this list and the next batch of games take
advantage of virtual reality. Most of them don't require a headset in order to play,
but virtual reality is definitely tech that I'm curious about.
09 Rez Infinite - TBA Rez Infinite is a follow up to the original
game on the Dreamcast back in 2001. The developers claim that they always envisioned this game
in VR and now they finally have a chance to make it happen on the Playstation VR. Rez
is a really diverse game. It's a futuristic on rails shooter that mixes wireframe graphics
and intense trance music with arcade style gameplay. It's definitely for fans of classic
arcade style games and also trippy experiences. The release date for Rez is still To Be Announced.
08 Dreams TBA 2016 Dreams is a sandbox creation game similar
to LittleBigPlanet, but this game focuses on the ideas from your subconscious. This
is a game that's really based on community involvement and ingenuity. The actual capabilities
in dreams are still unknown, but the trailer shows us everything from cute polar bears
to futuristic hover jets to eerie zombie dolls. While other games on this list are about mystery
and action, this one is all about creativity. Dreams is intended to launch sometime in 2016.
07 Robinson The Journey TBA Robinson The Journey is a game of exploration
and mystery. You play as a young boy who crash landed on an unknown planet and you're forced
to find a way out. The world is a dangerous jungle filled with huge dinosaurs. Your only
companion is an AI robot in the shape of a floating orb who leads you along. The game
runs on the Cryengine which has always been regarded as one of the most visually impressive
game engines. The release date for Robinson the Journey is currently unknown.
06 Rigs TBA RIGS is a first-person, arena based shooter
set 50 years into the future and is a combination of all different sports. Theres elements
of motorsport, shooting, and basketball that come together to create this combat league
where the rigs are the heroes. Its all about the drama, knocking an opponent rig
out of the air when theyre going to score, getting the big saves or scoring a last minute
goal to win for your team.
The game is built for Playstation VR since head movement is a big part of how you control
the rigs. It's how players steer their mechs and aim themselves. Matches are 3-on-3, and
the rigs come in different forms with different specialties. This is one of the few multiplayer
oriented games for the Playstation VR. The release date is still to be announced.
05 Gran Turismo Sport TBA 2016 Racing fans aren't being left out when it
comes to VR gaming. Developed by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony, Gran Turismo
Sport is the 13th game in the Gran Turismo series but it is a separate standalone entry.
GT Sport includes three modes: Campaign, Sports Mode, and Arcade mode with online and offline
play available. There will be two championships held simultaneously throughout the year. These
will be organized into online live events for The Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup.
There will be a beta for the game during the first and second quarter of 2016 prior to
the release later in 2016.
04 Battlezone - Q1 2016 (Console Exclusive) Battlezone is based on the original game from
1980 developed by Atari. This game is being reimagined exclusively on Playstation VR.
Battlezone has a retro futuristic look with vibrant colors and blocky design, but it still
maintains the fast explosive action. The VR interaction aims to make you feel as if you
are directly in the cockpit controlling the tanks. In the last trailer, variety in combat
is emphasized by including new enemy tank variants, new artillery weapons, and new power
ups that allow the player to use special area of effect attacks, boost, and additional modifiers.
Battlezone is an unexpected announcement for VR, but it's how the developers have always
pictured themselves playing the original Battlezone game. Battlezone is expected to launch in
the first quarter of 2016.
03 Ace Combat 7 TBA Ace Combat 7 is the 18th game in the series
and this time it brings you the closest possible to the cockpit experience by utilizing Playstation
VR. Ace Combat 7 is about intense dog fighting while you're soaring through the clouds. There's
a mix of authentic and futuristic aircraft to pilot through an immersive campaign mode.
Ace Combat 7's release date is still to be announced and it's VR compatible, but not
required.
02 Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood Until Dawn Rush Of Blood is a different take
on Supermassive's surprisingly successful horror game. It's an arcade style on rails
shooter with VR support that attempts to break conventions. It will take you back to familiar
parts of Blackwood Pines from the previous game, but with a different perspective that
expands on new experiences. With clever use of sound design and specifically placed jump
scares, Rush of Blood may be the scariest VR game on Playstation.
01 Eve: Valkyrie Q1 2016 (Console Exclusive) Eve: Valkyrie is one of the first big VR games
that was announced for the Playstation VR. Developed by CCP Games the devs known for
Eve Online and Dust 514, Eve: Valkyrie is a multiplayer dogfighting shooter set in the
Eve universe. Eve takes advantage of VR by allowing 360 degree viewpoint with action
combat going on all around you.
The game will have a rank and reputation based character progression system. And there will
be plenty of customization for ships. Ships have three distinct roles. There's the fighter
class with medium armor and gatling pulse lasers. There's the heavy class with high
density armor, composite heat shields, and direct plasma injectors. There will also be
a support class which is still in development.
The game will also be voiced by Katee Sackhoff, known for many Sci Fi series such as Battlestar
Galactica, Riddick, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. EVE: Valkyrie should be an immersive
space sci fi experience and it has console exclusivity for PS4.
Outro That's a massive list of games. I feel like
the PS4 library is growing at a really strong rate. I'm someone who owns almost all the
platforms: PS4, Xbox One, a Gaming PC, I even have a 3DS. But I tend to spend an awful lot
of time on Playstation because it has some of the best experience in this generation
of games. What are your favorite games on this list? Or did we miss any good ones. Let
us know in the comments and subscribe to the skilled channel for more upcoming games previews.
