Back in the Netherlands... the third Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague came to a close
on Tuesday... with the 53 countries taking part adopting a communique.
At this year's summit, world leaders focused on measures to prevent terrorists, criminals
and unauthorized personnel... from obtaining nuclear materials that could be used in developing
nuclear weapons. They also urged countries that have not done
so yet... to become a party to the Convention of the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material,
a key international legal body that addresses nuclear security issues.
The leaders also vowed to make continuous efforts... to achieve the common goal of strengthening
international nuclear security architecture. The next summit will take place in 2016 in
the United States.
