Hey Diy crafters, today in the studio I'm going to take inspiration from my latest book
Creative ways to Organize your home and I'm going to show you how to turn a
mouse trap
into a very functional note holder
first we need to disassemble the mousetrap by removing these little
tension bars
and then pulling on the side out the slapper
to remove all the components
you want to cover your mouse trap in here I've chosen to decoupage papers
from your ephemera papers 1 book. I have a double layer of cardstock
and I've arrange my pedals from the create an aster set
into my card stock on the cutting plate complete the sandwich with the baseplate
and pass this through the Artisan X-plorer(TM) machine
beginning with the largest set of pedals at a dab of glue to the base
and set the pedals into place continue adding the pedals
this time with the next size smaller
all the way down to your small set of petals
you can get a little bit color by applying some ink to a cosmetic sponge
and then applying the ink to all the pedals
And to finish
curl up each petal to give it a more realistic look
reassemble the mousetrap. I added a little extra embellishment to the center
of the flower
with a metal finding and a bead. I also added some
extra die cuts of scrolls filigree and also a stamped banner
attach magnets to the back and add a special note
that project along with many others are featured in my book
