Hi, today I'm gonna take my first video review.
Today I'm gonna review...
the portable soldering iron, portasol.
Initially I bought this stuff for the field patch-up on the demonstration of my devices.
But I suddenly found that this soldering iron deserves a primary.
Actually I purchase another electric soldering iron together but I prefer portasol at this time.
Portasol is a portable soldering iron, but not electric. Gas powered.
Here's the gas inlet.
I don't have it now but the refill gas is maybe the same as the gas lighter's.
Here you can adjust the flow rate of the gas.
Minimum flow...
Maximum flow
And here's the on/off switch of the flow.
The gas comes through here and burns the tip.
I'm gonna show how to ignite it.
Actually the flint is already attached on the cap.
To start the device, first you have to adjust the gas flow to max.
And then...
Turn on the switch...
Can you hear the gas flow?
After you hear the gas flow, just ignite it by the flint to activate it.
First you saw the blue flame followed by the red glow.
And finally you are good to go.
Alright, so I'm gonna show the test soldering.
Because I'm recording without LCD and can't check the field of view, I apologize if you miss the workspace.
Sorry (for out of focus)
Gas-powered soldering iron has a lot of kick in heating,
you can start soldering right after the ignition.
Too much solder...
When you have finished,
Turn the gas flow to minimum, then turn the switch off.
Sometimes the gas remains in the tip, keeping the red glow but it gonna go dark soon.
One big pros here: self support design.
Additionally, when you use the heat shrinkable tube,
you don't need to use a heat gun.
Oh I forgot to mention this, you don't need to use the flint within a certain time.
Just adjust the flow rate to max, then turn the switch on.
Then put the heater below the heat shrinkable tube.
Portable, but really handy.
I always carry portasol with...
this set.
Inside the tip cleaner,
I have some solders.
So I can do soldering job anytime anywhere with this set.
Alright, so this is the end of my first YouTube video review.
Whether I continue the review or not depends on your comment or like, so please subscribe!
Sorry I also forgot to mention this, the important information.
The catalog says that you can solder 45 minutes on maximum gas flow.
I usually use it on most circuit soldering with around 25% flow.
So maybe you can use more than 45 minutes.
Maybe you only need 100% flow to melt a big solder blob.
And I put the clear image of test soldering, which I recorded blurry.
That's all, thanks for watching!
